We are thrilled to announce that we have achieved the prestigious, Great Place to Work® certification for the third consecutive year. Senior Helpers is the first and only national in-home care company to be awarded this distinction since earning the initial recognition in 2019.
Thank you to all of our caregivers who took the time to fill out the Great Place to Work survey. We are honored that you choose to work with us and continually strive to be the best employer that we can be!
Liah Ramirez Promoted to Director of Client Services
Congratulations to Liah Ramirez on her recent promotion to Director of Client Services! Liah oversees and develops all client services. She has a regular communication process for new and existing clients including: first day of
service calls, assessments, routine client visits, developing care plans and going with clients to medical appointments as needed or requested. Liah joined Senior Helpers of Santa Barbara in 2015. She says there is no bigger reward then enriching the lives of senior and bringing peace of mind to their families.
Guess Who's Back!
Hi Everyone,
I had a wonderful time being off on Maternity Leave but I am happy to be back at work with all of you! Leon is doing great and I am so thankful I got to spend his first months at home with him.
I want to say a big thank you to Liah, Elena, and Emalee for working so hard in the office while I was away. We have been busier than ever and they did an amazing job!
I look forward to meeting those of you who have joined our community since I have been gone!
Sincerely,
Shannon
(and Leon)
Happy Father's Day
Senior Helpers wishes a Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there! Thank you for always providing us with a laugh (or cringe) and making sure we knew exactly how tall the world's biggest dog was (3.66 feet tall!). Hope it's a wonderful day for all!
Free Books for Kids Under 5
Did you know Dolly Parton's Imagination Library provides one free book per month to children under the age of 5?
We know many of our caregivers are loving parents and/or grandparents and we would love to help you register the child in your life for this amazing service! You can print the registration form here or call our office at 805-687-7777 and ask for Shannon. I will be happy to fill out and mail the form for you.
You might ask, "Why read to a baby or toddler?" Studies have shown that by beginning to read at an early age, kids have greater knowledge, expand their vocabulary, and become more fluent readers. They also have improved attention spans and better concentration. Not only does early reading help them with their education, but when children begin reading with loving parents or caregivers, they grow in self-confidence and independence!
Happy Reading!
We are Hiring!
Attention Caregivers: As you may have noticed, we have been busy! To keep up with how busy we've been, we are hiring new caregivers. If you know of anyone who is caring and compassionate, dependable, and looking to join a Great Place to Work, please refer them to us.

New Faces!
A new month brings new caregivers!
Lisa has been caregiving for about 13 years. She began caregiving by helping with her grandmother, and found that she truly enjoyed helping others. Since then she's worked with a variety of clients, and is looking forward to continue learning and growing as a caregiver.
Lorna began caregiving over 18 years ago! She feels caregiving is part of her nature, something that is a part of her. She is grateful for the experience and thankful that she gets the opportunity to help with others. Thank you Lorna for choosing to help our seniors!
Angie joined our team after working at Cottage Hospital as a PCA. She is knowledgeable, caring, and happy to help others. Welcome Angie, we think you'll be a great fit with our clients!
Claudia has been caregiving for 26 years! She is experienced, outgoing, and truly enjoys what she does. We look forward to having her on our team.
Liza began working with seniors in 2006. She enjoys working in-home and creating a comfortable environment for clients. It will be a pleasure to have her on our team!

Michelle Hughes, daughter and caregiver for two of our clients, celebrated her mom's birthday by having family friends come sing to her. It was a beautiful moment and experience for her mom to have. We're lucky to have caregivers who care so much about our clients and their joy. To the left is a picture of the friends singing to Kathy.
